Jo Lathwood’s current show, Down the Hatch, focuses on seventeenth century brewers and sellers of ale. I’m really excited to visit so I can enjoy (and even interact with) the artworks.

She and curator George Harwood-Smith very kindly asked if I’d like to come and have a conversation with Jo for one of their excellent Kitchen Conversations events. Of course, it was a yes!

Jo will be talking about her artistic practice and the inspiration behind the pieces. I’ll then give some of the historical context to the artworks, and we’ll discuss the roles of women in beer production with the audience.
